XXX: State of the Union
In this action-packed sequel to the box-office smash XXX, Ice Cube stars as Darius Stone, a thrill-seeking troublemaker whose criminal record and extreme sports obsession make him the perfect candidate to be the newest XXX agent. He must save the U.S. government from a deadly conspiracy led by five-star general and Secretary of Defense George Deckert (played by Willem Dafoe). Only a renegade XXX agent like Stone has the Xtreme skills to stop Deckert's dangerous military splinter group from taking over the government in America's capital.

A great action movie, and a good intrigue - imagination201
As far as actin goes, action movie are never renowned for it, so... this was not what I was looking for when I started viewing that movie. I was looking for action, and wow! the sci-fi like action really blew me away and got me on the edge of my seat with increased interest :) The fact that Sam Jackson plays a more active role in this one wasn't a bad surprise either, and Willem Dafoe as the bad guy really is begging for someone to wring his arrogant's neck. Personally, I feel that the opening sequence, the prison escape, the spy stuff with Ice cube and the final pursuit of the high-velocity train totally make up for this movie's weaker elements like the ghetto punks and the doubtful bad lady.
All in all, a fun ride that is better, in my opinion, than the first movie.my2cents- end of a promising franchise - gerard
I nominate vin diesal as the smartest man in hollywood. If you were presented with a potential james bond 007 movie franchise, you probably would be all over it. I would have too..until i saw this dud. What where they thinking. They replaced vin with an out of shape actor who's last good film was the original BARBERSHOP. From the poor acting, to the unbelievable-pathetic cgi stunts, this movie deserves a minus rating. From all the negative comments I've made so far- the first thirty minutes was still watchable..until they got rid of samuel l jackson for some idiotic reason. On top of that, they decided to do irrational plot twist towards the end, that leave you wondering-- WHAT WAS UP WITH THAT?..all in all, if you figured why everyone is getting blown up, than you deserve to work in the pentagon. XXX: State of the Union is bad movie. The acting is mediocre at best considering the cast, the movie is to over the top, there is no real of suspense, and the plot twists are terrible. It is really hard to watch this movie and stay interested. Not one of the year’s top 10. This movie will not even keep you on the edge of your seat. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. I give it two stars out of five.
