Madagascar
They weren't born in the wild... They were shipped there.
Move it! Move it! for Madagascar, the #1 Family Comedy of the Year, from the studio that brought you Shrek and Shark Tale. When four pampered animals from the New York's Central Park Zoo accidentally find themselves shipwrecked on the exotic island of Madagascar, they discover it really IS a jungle out there! Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett Smith headline an all-star cast of hilarious animals, including a quartet of mischievous penguins and legions of lemurs, led by the outrageous King Julien, Madagascar is a roaring good family film that you'll go wild for again and again!

A Movie for Kids - moviedoug
Four zoo animals find themselves stranded on an island during transport to another zoo. Not much here for adults to watch, most of the movie is just animals being silly. Each animal reverts slightly back to their instinctive natures and some jokes are made about that. There are some penguins that act like they are in the army and most of the natives are some sort of small mammal (lemurs?) which dance around a lot. Kids will like this movie.Krack-a-lackin! - Canadianmom
This movie is simply good clean fun. This is the second time I've watched it with my daughter and I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The lemas are hilarious, and the realtionship between Alex the lion and Chris Rock's character is wonderful - especially when Alex bites him on the butt (an oldie but a goodie!). The penguins add a wonderul and zainy side story, and the whole thing comes together nicely. Enough time is spent on establishing the characters (not always the case in animated movies) and it left me thinking 'sequal' at the end.I was expecting more..... - Chris1
Given all of the thumbs up type reviews that this movie received, I figured it was a sure bet to interest adults and children alike. Though entertaining and visually appealing, it lacked the spark of a Finding Nemo or any of the Disney classic films. And please, could the production companies STOP using known talent for the voices!! I find it extremely distracting as all one does is visualize the actor themselves instead of getting lost in the fictious characters.
