It starts out as a rags to riches story as Troy Duffy, a Boston-bred bartender, sells his first screenplay for The Boondock Saints. The deal includes a directing gig for Duffy, a soundtracj gig for his band and at one point there's even an offer to purchase the bar he owns. Duffy uses his newfound good fortune as fuel to mistreat his associates

This is not a well shot or edited documentary. Overnight plays like a a series of home movies except the subject matter is fascinating. This film has one clear message....Troy Duffy is a tool. He was a tool when he sold his script and thought of himself as one of the great mind every to write a script. And he was a tool when he alienated all his friends and screwed up his big break. The best scene is an encouter at city college when he attempts to bully film students after he has become a failure.
Also I don't care how many people like it.....Boondock Saints Sucks!!!Like A Car Wreck - Big_J
The best had it all and then threw it all away story ever told. The amazing part is that its all for real. It was hard not to cringe at some points. Being a fan of the boondock saints is not a must. This is just pure old fashioned entertainment. Do yourself a favor......... try this one out. You'll be glad you did.It's like "project greenlight" in hell - gonyou
If you are a movie buff you have to see this movie. If you are a psychology buff you have to see this movie.
This is a squirm inducing tale of what should have been a great cinderella story but turns into a "top 100 ways to ruin your career and make enemies" list. It's almost unbeleivable how ridiculously obnoxious he gets. If it weren't a documentary I wouldn't beleive it. For those who dig the behind the scenes stuff you'll love the cameos and references to "biz" talk etc. and for those who have seen BOONDOCK SAINTS you'll appreciate where it came from but simply as a character study this is unreal. There is a real condidition called "assburger syndrome" where people are blissfully unaware at how socially inept they are. I wonder if this guy has it.
Fame doesn't change you, it's a truth elexir that reveals who you really are!
