Good remake - palmtree
This is a great story, and a lovely romance. I loved Don Johnson in this movie, and Melanie Griffiths was excellent. They have good chemistry together. I didn't love John Goodman in this role; I didn't think it was believable that she would have been with him. But the story is excellent and well worth watching!I liked it! - maebers
Much more enjoyable than you'd think. Griffith and Johnson sizzle. There are some good laughs and fans of the stars certainly won't be disappointed. Griffith almost makes it watchable. She is as charismatic a camera presence as ever, but her magic is mostly muted in this flat retread.Born Yesterday - p98l256
I have had a chance to see both the 1950s rendition and the newer version of this film. Although I love to see Melanie Griffith, I preferred the old rendition of this story. I believe the naievete of Judy Holiday in the old rendition was more believable that the role played by Melanie.
