This is pretty preposterous. Seriously, how many people are in on this conspiracy? There are some decent stunts, there are some funny lines, and not much else. I love how no one seems to notice/care that half of the front of the RV is missing...This is a pretty prototypical car chase film (with an RV) with not a whole lot to recommend it.

Better this race be a sprint and not a marathon - Zollman

I saw this back in 1975 when it originally came out. Back then, I guess it would have been exciting seeing that I was 13 and it was about guns, car chases and the Devil. Fast forward 33 years and it just doesn't hold the same appeal that it once did. Once the movie does get going, it flows at a pretty good pace. However, I still can't figure out why we needed to see Peter Fonda racing around the track on his dirt bike. Then later, he and Warren Oates waste a few more minutes zipping around the countryside. The bikes aren't part of any chase relevant to the movie. Regardless, there are some good moments of suspense and terror.

I think I'm being a little generous giving this one 3 stars, but seeing that it's a cult classic, why not. If this flick was any longer, I wouldn't even recommend it. But seeing that it clocks in under 90 minutes, the movie ends before you can become bored.

I say give it a look!

Entertaining but no Brain Teaser - freddyprinze

I thoroughly enjoyed this film and took it for what it was--an entertaining yet suspenseful movie. It displayed the acting talents of Peter Fonda and Warren Oates and the cameraderie they have together in this movie and others they have also co-starred in. The chase scenes were white-knuckle and the satanic cult members scary. You really identify with these people on a road trip vacation. The ending is ludicrous and disappointing but I would still recommend this as the movie has a strong appeal and you won't forget it!
