Batman Begins
Batman Begins explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham.
In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.

Batman Begins brought a much-needed dose of levity to a series that had become completely ridiculous in Joel Schumacher's hands. It's intense, thrilling and mostly true to the modern comics. But personally, I miss the whimsy and style of Tim Burton's vision. While Batman Begins is a very good film, it's not as fun as a superhero film should be.It's the Ultimate Batman Movie - chagopian
More so than the Dark Knight, this movie is the penultimate Batman/Bruce Wayne movie. It's the first brave step into the gritty, realistic superhero, and although there are some minor missteps here and there, this is one of the most solid comic books films ever, and a great sci fi/actioner. Almost every actor delivers some solid performances, and the direction is kept close to the ground, so you feel the realism, and the CGI is kept to a very comfortable low.
I'd suggest anyone to pick this up, if only to get to the more complex, and bigger Dark Knight, but to also indulge yourself in the dark world of Bruce Wayne. His psyche has never been better developed on film, and for that reason alone, it is worth checking out.

Simply said, this is, without a doubt, the best Batman movie to date... and that's saying a lot considering how many kicks at the can other directors & "visionaries" have taken at attempting to bring 'ol Bats to the big screen.
While previous incarnations were campy and saddled with the creative baggage of their producers & directors (nipples on the bat suit? C'mon guys...), this Batman, Christopher Nolan's Batman, is THE Batman. Grim, gritty, dark, vengeful and angry, this film oozes atmosphere and begs the question "How could those OTHER guys have gotten it so wrong on the last 4 attempts?!?". This Batman is as grounded in reality as possible, with as little theatrics & comic-booky camp as possible. This is a reality-based film (not reality... there's a guy in a batsuit... really), as as close to what you'd expect a real Batman to be like.
In Batman Begins, we're introduced to Batman's origins, or rather another interpretation of his origins (depending on which comic book geek you ask). Regardless, this roll of the dice shows us the motivations that lead Bruce Wayne to adopt the cape & cowl of the Dark night. The villans this time around make their apearances late in the film, and their motivations and characteristics are equally intriguing.
Saying any more about the plot would give too much away... needless to say, this is a must-see for any action, comic book, or movie fan. Hell... this is a must see for anyone who likes a good movie.
Enjoy!
