Cliffhanger (Superbit)
Sarah was an inexperienced climber. She trusted Gabe to rescue her, but something went wrong high above the valley floor...
Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker, Janine Turner and Ralph Waite star in this high-altitude avalanche of action: a non-stop adventure peaked with suspense and capped with heart-quaking terror.
For Rocky Mountain Rescue, the mission is almost routine: locate five climbers. With the woman he loves (Turner) and his best friend (Rooker), Gabe Walker (Stallone) braves the icy peaks only to discover that the distress call is really a trap set by merciless international terrorist Eric Qualen (Lithgow). Now millions of dollars and their own lives hang in the balance. Against explosive firepower, bitter cold and dizzying heights, Walder must outwit Qualen in a deadly game of hide-and-seek.

Sylvester Stallone as a mountain climber who would have thought. He completely pulls it off though. The scenery here is awesome and the story was well written. The action sequences are well executed and the effects are what you would expect from a Stallone movie. Add in a great cast and you have a really good movie. The superbit version is as good as it gets without hitting Blueray which I never really saw a mojor difference in anyway.Painful - MexiCanuck
I'm sure the characters who fell off cliffs felt pain. I'm sure the characters who got shot felt pain. I'm sure the characters who got beaten up felt pain.
But did the makers of this movie need to inflict pain on viewers as well?
We know the quality of actor Sylvester Stallone is. In this picture it appeared that he wanted no one to outshine him.
The plotline is so pathetic, the movie needed good character development to distract the viewer, but it failed in this area as well.
The one star in this movie is the Rocky Mountains. Some of the scenery is interesting on a Superbit disc displayed on a 1080p screen. Without that, I would not have been able to get to the end of this purported "cliffhanger" except as my wife did... asleep.
