Being Ron Jeremy
Why Be John Malkovich...When You Can Be Ron Jeremy?
Struggling and under-hung stand-up comic Brian Pickles has no luck with the ladies. Unfortunately, the girl of his dreams, Mia, who works at the porn store he frequents, only dates well-endowed guys. One day his life takes a bizarre turn at the store when he finds a portal into the body of legendary porn star Ron Jeremy. When Brian and Mia team up to take control of Ron, Jeremy can no longer maintain his renowned status, and his career becomes sabotaged. After Ron consults with friend Andy Dick to find out what's behind the strange forces possessing him, everything builds to a hilarious climax as Ron struggles to take back control of his body and career.

The main film, which was quite short, was just OK. A little stupid, there were still some laughs to be found.
The best part is was the special features, which consisted of some stand-up work by Ron Jeremy followed by a Q & A session. That stuff was hilarious!A Movie For Ron Jeremy's Fans - TheShamus
Ron Jeremy is an X-rated male porno "star" who has been in the Adult Video industry since 1978. He has been in more than 1800 Adult Movies. He has also had "bit parts" and served as "technical consultant" for a number of mainstream Hollywood pictures. Aside from Adult Video, Jeremy has travelled the "Strip Club" circuit with his stand up comedy act. He had a high profile appearance on the VH1 show, "The Surreal Life" where he befriended Tammy Faye Bakker. Ron Jeremy has developed an almost cult-like following along the way.
Being Ron Jeremy is a short comedy based on the film, "Being John Malkovick". Instead of entering the mind of Malkovich, people pay to enter the mind of Ron Jeremy ... and all the antics that take place. There is plenty of female nudity, little male nudity, plenty of bad humour, puns --- but overall it would be classed as "R-Rated" material.
"Being Ron Jeremy" is a comedy, but it is not very funny. This short comedy plays like a one hour sitcom -- which is only partially scripted and strongly ad-libbed. Ron Jeremy basically plays himself on camera ... and he is good at it. He has some charisma -- and he is a likeable kind of guy if you can get through the moral issue surrounding pornography.
The best portion of the DVD is the, "Inside the Porn Actors Studio" where a crowd gets to ask Ron questions. It's mostly what you would expect, but the questions are pretty good -- and Jeremy is always ready with some "hammy" answer. There is also a 15 minute sample of Jeremy's standup comedy which unapologetically misses with the crowd as often as it hits.
I don't think mainstream audiences are going to get much out of this video. The craftmanship of the script and video are similar to the production values you would expect from a high quality Adult Film (so I've been told -- ha).
Fans of Ron Jeremy will find this worthwhile ... otherwise, this is one to pass on.

Assuming you know what your getting into renting a movie starring the Hedgehog, you'll probably find this mildly amusing. It wasn't terribly funny and some of the jokes were terrible flops, but at least it was short and didn't overstay it's welcome. Light, goofy, out there, and probably less crude than you'd expect. The extra footage was decent too.
2 and a half stars.
