So I expected a dull drama with the handsome James D'Arcy being the only reason to watch it but I was suprised...in a good way.
It has an interesting plot and you may figure out the end, you may not but it is definatly an interesting mystery and I'd even say thriller. Messes with your mind, yes. Love/hate the characters? Yup. Would I watch it again? Hell ya!! I want to buy it!
I definatly recommend it to anyone who is open to more indie-artsy movies because they will be rewarded.
Good acting, character development, plot, twist, very satisfying.Pleasant Surprise - Micmac
I rented this movie because I liked Gael Garcia Bernal's performances in previous films, such as "The Motorcycle Diaries", "Y Tu Mama Tambien" and "Amore Perros", among others.
Perhaps not knowing exactly what to expect made this movie, "Dot the I" more enjoyable otherwise. The Writer/Director Matthew Parkhill did a great job of setting up the story and establishing the tone which conveyed that something is not quite right about this "love story". The intercutting between the DV and film makes sense for the story and adds an extra layer of enjoyment. For fear of giving away any spoilers, I'll stop there. But if you're in the mood for a fun movie with quite a few twists and turns along the way, this one is for you.yeah well... - miss_o
Lately indie movies have been making me feel, old. And I'm not... I'm 29.
The plot isn't deep enough, the movie drags on all over the place with scenes that don't payoff.
The twist was okay, but it was hacky. We don't feel enough for the characters. the dialogue isn't deep, the emotions just feel ABSOLUTELY flat.
I can't waste my time watching something that's been written that can't even muster emotion.
But yeah, the twist was okay, I would go into it, but I don't want to give spoilers.
NOT "this year's Memento" whatever year that was.
