Boy Meets Girl (1998)
A modern-day fairy tale in which a love poem casts a spell on an Italian waitress, making her fall in love with a cynical American writer whom she falsely believes to have written it.

Boy Meets Girl - Gord
This romantic comedy is set in little Italy in Toronto and includes some very nice cultural and fantasy elements that really add to the overall enjoyment of the film. The character development of most of the key actors is excellent. Joe Montegna as the amourous poet (and commentator) is superb and succeeds in creating the surreal atmosphere of love. The poetic scripts he delivered were excellent. Sean Astin as the cynical writer, and Emily Hampshire as the Italian immigant, do a great job as the romantic pair, that chance throws together in comic scenes that I laugh at repeatedly. The story has all the key parts necessary for the typical romance, and several side scenes that truly added to the film's humour. My favorite, was the lesson on Italian hand signals. If you enjoy romantic comedies, this ranks up there with Sleepless in Seattle and Love Actually
