Savannah Smiles
This touching, exciting and beautiful film tells the story of Savannah, a delightful runaway six-year-old, who is thrown together with two escaped convicts, Alvie and Boots, in a crazy comedy of errors.
Savannah's father offers a huge reward for her safe return, believing that she is kidnapped - a reward two fugitives with a police record will have a great deal of trouble collecting. Hiding out in an abandoned house, Savannah, Alvie and Boots find a strong bond of love and family they've never known before. The love they share is tested in a tense climax that's not to be missed!

I remember seeing this movie when I was 9 yrs old - 30 years later it still makes me laugh not at the same things anymore - I now think this movie is lost gem - it reminds me of a time when there more freedom for kids to run around and play - we could just say "going out to play" and no one would hear from us for hours and no one would be worried unless you didn't come home in time for your favorite dinner - if it wasn't your favourite they just assumed you ate elsewhere - lol when I first saw this - it never clicked in that Savannah could be in danger - and I think if it had occured to me the movie would have been ruined for me - the young actress in this movie was simply adorable she seemed to have a lot of fun doing her job - it came thru very well I can't say she was a great actress - she was only 6 - but she was really good in this role - it was a great fit for her - this is a great movie for little kids someone else said that it reminded them of shirley temple - I kinda think that is an 80's version of a shirly temple movie - cute little girl gets into a situation that over her head and charms her way out of it - a classic recipe for a successful kids moviecutesy movie - ceiliqueen
We watched this movie and we did enjoy it. The kids voted for 4 stars and we voted for 3 so it was agreed it would be 4 stars. Similar in feel to a Dukes of Hazard-meets Shirley Temple crossover. Disturbing in that the situation could have been so different had she picked the wrong ex-cons. The actress was extremely cute and intelligent. Sad to see that she too has gone the same wayward path as so many childhood star. Almost feels like a period piece now as it is an early 1980s movie.
