11:14
Director Greg Marcks’ stunning debut feature tells the seemingly random, yet vitally connected story of a set of incidents that all converge one evening at 11:14pm. Featuring performances by a hotbed of young star talent, the story follows the chain of events of five different characters and five different storylines that all converge to tell the story of murder and deceit. A man is startled from a drunken ride when a body crashes against his windshield. He manages to wrestle it awkwardly into his trunk despite the curiosity of a passerby. A gang of young hoodlums amuse themselves by playing pranks until their night-time cruising grinds to a violent halt. Gunshots from a hold-up break the silence of the night. The police and the ambulance attendants have a busy shift. It is 11:14 p.m. in Middleton—"The Happiest Place to Live," as the sign on the way into town informs us.

I have seen a lot of comments about how writer-director Greg Marcks's film "11:14" is in the tradition of "Pulp Fiction," but that is true only to the extent that you are talking about a film that plays with chronology. True, Quentin Tarantino made it possible to tell a story in a non-linear mode, but that is not what Marck does in this one. What he does is more akin to Akira Kurosawa's "Rashomon," where we get the same story from various perspectives. Even here the analogy is not completely on point either, because in "Rashomon" each character tells a decidedly different version, only the last of which is privileged as what really happened. In "11:14" each pass through the story covers essentially the same time (each story starts progressively earlier in the evening), but for the most part in a different place. The "most" part of that last sentence is key, because the characters and stories interconnect and as we learn something new we rethink what has gone out beforeshocking as hell - eyewitness
Rather strange fare, this is a very smart, suspenseful film a la “Pulp Fiction” only more horrifying and with a very dark sense of humour. This movie is a thrill ride that goes to the throat.
‘11:14’ really had me riveted as I watched all the story segments fall into place. It's is a black comedy, and a very ingenious one. Every key player is guilty of something, and they all get what's coming to them, but in ways that normally don't happen in real life. A wicked circular tale of instant Karma, this is one of the best movies you've never even heard of.A High-Octane, Hilarious Jigsaw Puzzle Put Together By Ingenius Writing & Directing! - Cogz
What a magnificent piece of work by first-time director, Greg Marck! It's like watching traffic going through a series of intersections where vehicles are somehow interconnected as they pass each other. Wow, what an ingenius weaving of multiple stories that are seemingly random and unrelated at first but at the end of the day, it's all relative!! And the constant thing that they share? The time - 11:14 pm!! All the separate stories make up one big giant piece of jigsaw puzzle at the moment when the clock hits 11:14p. And the whole movie is about revealing how they come to belong to this piece. It's like a 4-way traffic stopping at a traffic light on an intersection. Yup, one person's decision in an event leads to the end result that becomes someone else's nightmare and so on and so forth. Cause and effect. Pure & simple!
What's so original and interesting about this script is that the stories are actually the protagonists while the characters are the antagonists. The dialogue adds to the hilarity of the whole ridiculously unbelievable events on top of the stupid actions taken by the antagonists! It's so funny and the non-stop thrill just keeps surprising you 'coz you don't know what's gonna happen next!
The director did a fantastic job in presenting the movie with a unique style of story-telling. After every story ends, you see the related clips quickly rewound back to a few minutes before 11:14p which tie to another story. This keeps the viewer at the edge of the seat with curiosity & anticipation. Brilliant work! What an original!! I highly recommend this movie to anyone who's up for a joyride of his/her life! Check out the creative opening title credits - yet another original which I've never seen before...
