Sky High
Saving the world... one homework assignment at a time.
Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano) is full of teen angst about friends, grades, and girls... in other words, Will is just another suburban teen about to start high school. If that isn't enough to deal with, Will has the added pressure of being the third generation of the Stronghold family to attend the esteemed and celebrated Sky High. This elite high school is entrusted with the responsibility of molding today's power-gifted students into tomorrow's superheroes. The only problem... Will is starting his freshman year without any super powers of his own. Labeled a sidekick, Will is bullied by the jock with the power to stretch, humiliated by a kid with super speed, stalked by the outcast who shoots fire from his hands, and teased by the cheerleader who can replicate herself into an entire cheer squad. Worst of all, he must hide all of his troubles or face the disappointment of his parents, the crime-fighting duo -- The Commander (Kurt Russell) and Jetstream (Kelly Preston) -- the most revered and beloved superheroes in the business today.

An under-appreciated family comedy. - estefan
A fun superhero comedy, Sky High manages to provide a film that nicely takes the superhero genre and plops him into a high school - and it works! The best aspects of the smart screenplay (co-written by the creators of the excellent high school-set series Kim Possible) is how it takes the genre conventions and spins it around based on the setting. From the hero-sidekick conflict to the banter between the teachers, the film is full of hidden tidbits that add to the fun. The young actors are all very good and Bruce Campbell once again shows his tendency of having some of the best moments when he walks in. It has its cliches, of course, but the script and characters are strong enough that they're not bothersome. It's an enjoyable ride.great kids movie - Raffus
Who knew this movie would be so entertaining. It takes pieces of past disney films and melds it into this superhero coming of age movie. I thought it was pretty well done. Sure you have a lot of clichés in this movie. But kids haven't seen a lot of movies so it wouldn't be clichés to them. I brings out some nice lessons in the end for the kids in respects to being yourself and being proud of who you are. Plus they explain to the kids that even the weakest talents can be useful and that we should not subject each others to upper and lower classes. Tons of lessons for kids and it's done in a manner that they wouldn't even realize.Comicbooks for the whole family! - PDon+
LOVED IT! Wow! When this arrived in my mailbox I thought, "why had I put this on my ziplist?", but as a keen comic fan I thought, well, I'll try it with my kids. The next morning I put on Sky High and my kids (6, 4, and 2) we LOVIN' IT! A great concept (who wouldn't want to visit a super hero high school?!?) mixed with a surprisingly good cast made this a keeper. I'm thinking of buying it for me (I mean, for my kids, ha ha!). Also including Bruce Campbell was awesome! Great show for the whole family!
