Great start to the series - willywooo
The first season of Tales From The Crypt contains the first 6 episodes, the second disk is a couple documentrys about the show.
This shows segments are like short horror movies that are usually bloody and scary but also contain humor. The first season contains some classic episodes like "All Through The House", "The Man Who Was Death" and "Collection Completed".
Tales from the crypt is a entertaining tv show and is worth a buyITS A SCREAM! - MtheM
so i copped this on account of seeing the recent halloween movie by rob zombie. im not too into gorey slasher horror films. i find them distasteful, and very incredibly uninteresting. i often think less of people who view them. i try not to judge my friends who indulge in them, but i have a feeling they are deeply disturbed and twisted individuals.
with that being said, i love all things tales from the crypt. they are funny, have a strong sense of (poetic) justice, feature tons of crazy cameos/celebs, and display a dark side of human nature in a very realist light.
each episode in the first season is very unique, and they dont get repetitive. youre going to encounter some dark trips into the human pysche, but also some very comical perspectives on the banal things in life.
so highly recommend. cant wait to go through all the other seasons.
THATS CRYPT BABY!Good fun, but why two discs? - DWM54
The stories are pretty much as I remembered them- corny puns by the Crypt Keeper, entertaining and sometime genuinely disturbing stories. If you're not familiar with the series, don't be mislead by the "muppet" host- these tales aren't for young children. The second disc has an excellent one hour history of EC Comics with some fascinating backstory about government censorship and the Comics Code. The segment also includes lots of good interviews, including a tip of the hat to EC Comics from R. L. Stine of Goosebumps fame. However, other than a superficial ten minute overview of the season, that's all that's on the second disc.
