Good over-the-top fun - Poet
This movie is a little campy, but it offers some good over-the-top fun! Lots of poorly choreographed fight scenes and nonsensical plot twists, but the story still manages to pull you in and entertain you.
I sure did get a chuckle from seeing a glimpse of you Sly Stallone in this one.

Before Burt Reynolds and Farrah Fawcett essentially remade this flick, this version is less camp, more violent and arguably quite dark in places. People get shot, have the crap beaten out of them, blown up and throughout the whole thing there is the troubled-souled racer angle.
Other parts are in contrast quite light-hearted in a fisty-cuffs, 'trouble with the law' Dukes of Hazard kinda way.
Fantastically bad fight scenes, car-crashes that make no sense --at all-- but hey, this is a 70's road-flick that until now you'd probably never heard of, so what's there to lose!?
