The Outsiders (The Complete Novel)
In 1983, Francis Ford Coppola's film of S.E. Hinton's novel struck a powerful chord with audiences, capturing the intense feelings of being caught between childhood and adulthood, and not belonging anywhere. Decades later, Coppola has revisited the film and reintegrated 22 minutes of character-enriching footage, including a new beginning and ending more true to the book. A rousing new rock-n-roll soundtrack featuring six songs from Elvis Presley and other music greats make this new version of The Outsiders one of movie history's great rediscoveries.

I love this new version. The story now seems much more complete. I remember watching the original movie years ago, I always wondered how Pony Boy got the cut under his chin....it makes sense now.
Having the courtroom scene returned, as well as the first 10 mintues or so of the movie make it worth watching again.Never had the chance to see this film... - vide0dr0id
I didn't know what to expect and to me the market has been flooded with films from this era. So when I see such great performances from C. Thomas Howell and the majority of these young actors I feel that I completely missed out on catching this the first time around. I haven't seen the original edit of The Outsiders so I can't really say anything about this new version. It was great to see these actors before they became superstars.a New Classic! - Digsy
There is no disputing the improvement over the previous cut of the movie. If you are at all familiar with the original movie, and the novel that inspired it, you know how many of the rich character developing scenes were left out. This is the movie version that the novel deserves. Suddenly what seemed like disjointed and lack-lustre performances before appear as richly layered studies. This is the new classic.
