Having achieved success as a NY model, Brier (Pell James) decides to move to L.A. to launch an acting career. With the support of her acerbic agent Carrie (Carrie Fisher), Brier lands a spot in a highly sought after acting class where she befriends another would-be actress, Clea (Ashlee Simpson). While out on the town discovering the music scene, Brier again crosses paths with Luke (Steven Strait), a singer/songwriter who has been toiling for years without a record deal. Brier and Clea decide to help Luke and unbeknownst to him, they set out to create some L.A. style hype to get him noticed. As Luke's profile rises, so do the demands of his budding new career. When Luke and Brier can't hide the spark that was always there, they both discover that the price of fame may be higher than anyone expected.

Don’t be fooled by this Billy Zane look-alike. What can I say, don’t waste your time on this one. But if you did see it or are insisting on watching it; the dog is genious. I LOVE THE DOG. That’s about it.
Here’s if you need more:
This movie didn’t know whether to be “innocent” about the biz or “rock star.” I can’t handle a movie that doesn't commit. The acting wasn’t so good but this was definitely a case of bad directing. I hate to say it but I’m going to think twice before I pick another movie directed by...... well, we won’t say the name here, I wouldn’t want to be slanderous.good intentions - Scott2
Undiscovered had good all around intentions when it began, and I'm sure (or at least I hope) the original version of it lacked the spotlight moving to Ashlee Simpson at the end, but the story lost its flight in my eyes when Ashlee Simpson's character all of a sudden for no real reason got the courage to sing on her own and outshine to a degree the lead guy's own singing ability. I was surprised to see that Ashlee Simpson played a good supporting character, and seems to be a better character actor than one would think. Maybe if she focuses on supporting roles with well written characters she could do more damage in the film world than the music world.
The two leads were well played for the most part, I thought that Kip Pardue as the brother was beautiful casting as he filled that role very well.
The technical aspects really seemed to hurt the movie. The camera work was really rough at times, not having its focus right and giving too much motion at times to the hand held movements. The look of the film was odd too as it changed multiple times... never really setting at tone, and with this film it needed to be constant so we could just fall for the leads.
While the story lacked at moments, the idea/concept was good, and the message at the end was a good one (being creative/behind the scenes is more rewarding than fame). It just lacked it too many area's to make the film good.
At the end when she has that glove on was one of the dumber instances I've seen in a while in a film. To have the glove is one thing, to wear it is just annoying.
Overall, everyone involved in this film seems to have alot of potential, unfortunately this was their film to learn and not their film to fully realize that potential.my2cents- boredom - gerard
If anyone can give a possitive review for this lactluster of a film, I want to personally meet them and give them an oscar for staying awake during its 2 hour run. I was drawn into the Commitments story line but soon discovered why Undiscovered tanked at the box office. Aslee Simpson followed up her sisters Dukes of Hazzard performance with this dude and both should get an award as co-worst female performance of the year. I don't know which is worst, Britney spears in Crossroads, M.Carey in Glitter or Ashley in this awful film. If you haven't discovered Undiscovered, please avoid renting from zip as you'll soon discover the true meaning of boredom.
