This movie was really original kind of story which was different from any other hero animation movie. It was the toy point of view to the human world and it will be so attached to you when you watch this. I'm sure each characters were created perfectly to have this storyline.Never to Old to Enjoy - LBRozza
I still love animation now that I'm in my 40s as I did when I was a child. The beauty of animated films like Toy Story is that our sense of wonder is brought back to life. Hard to believe that this movie is more than 10 years old! The animation still looks great and Hanks and Allen make the characters come alive. Loved the movie and highly recommend it.Any Early Computer Animation Flick And A Future Classic... - Zoodles
When I first saw Toy Story I was floored by the immersive environment that Pixar created for the film. This film is still jaw dropping today which is quite an accomplishment considering how detailed recent flicks like Cars, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles etc are.
What really makes this film so great though is the excellent script and superb voice actors who portray the roles. This is one of those rare "family" films that the children will love yet older folks will appreciate. There are a few of those jokes sprinkled in that an adult will appreciate yet the children won't get or clue into. One is where Andy (the child who all the toys belong to) is getting a new toy for his birhday and Mr. Potatoe Head is all excited over the possibility of there being a Mrs. Potatoe Head joinging the toy collection.
Like many animated films there are some lessons of morality mixed in but again they are subtle and not over the head.
This flick is well worth a rental (and a must own if you are a fan of the genre). The sequel is easily the equal of the first with even more detailed animation. One of the few times I have found a sequel the equal of a movie I love.
Highly recommended!
