Alex Yardley, producer of Elizabeth Blane's popular pre-taped cooking show, has just sold a doozy of an idea. Elizabeth will star in a live Christmas special from her Connecticut home. At last, viewers will see the lovely estate, devoted family and elegant lifestyle Elizabeth has talked about for years. One problem: they don't exist. Elizabeth is a media creation, a front person for her staff. "Just details," Yardley says.
Director Arnold Schwarzenegger whips details into a merry mixup in this media-age remake of the 1945 classic. Dyan Cannon portrays Elizabeth, who'd find making toast a problem...and whose career may be soon toast. Kris Kristofferson plays a handsome national hero who thinks the TV event he's invited to share is the real deal. And Tony Curtis is Yardley, whose dream unravels while America looks on. Happy holidaze!

Loved the Stars! - Whirlwind
...but found I enjoyed the older version of this film better, with Barbara Stanwyck and Dennis Morgan. This version was too busy and the story seemed to dip at times but it's a good family movie with kids and there's a romance story between Dyan Cannon and Kris Kristofferson. Tony Curtis provides the comedic relief at times so he's interesting.
