Revolver
Your mind will not except a game this big.
Gambler and conman Jake Green (Jason Statham) always ran with a bad crowd and it cost him seven years of his life when he took the rap for mean Dorothy Macha (Ray Liotta) and wound up in jail. After his release, Jake becomes unbeatable at the tables using a formula for the ultimate con that he learned from two mysterious fellow prisoners. Now he is ready to take his revenge. Macha is plotting to eliminate his ruthless rival, Lord John, and has staked his credibility on a huge drug deal with the all-powerful Sam Gold. Jake visits Macha at his casino and humiliates him publicly in a game of chance. Macha fearing more of the same medicine sends his goons to "take care of" Jake. His life is saved by enigmatic Zach (Vinnie Pastore) who, with his equally inscrutable partner Avi (Andre Benjamin), offers Jake protection. Against his better judgment, Jake accepts. He soon finds himself playing the very last game he wants to be playing, and there is danger at every turn. But the biggest danger of all comes from a totally unexpected source...

I have become a fan of Guy Ritchie work. I particularly like how he provides room for Jason Statham to act. I like the idea behind this movie. However, the central conceit is easy to figure out early on, so the big reveal at the end is not a big reveal. The plot is too tangled to deliver the message the director wants. The narrative overdub doesn't add much. Mark Strong is as good as always.Ray Liotta rocks it! - metabolics
yeah... I was a little confused by this film. Even after watching the special features and interviews. Having said that I still like aspects of it - Jason Statham is always consistent - Andre3000 brings some interesting nuances at times - Ray Liotta? WOW!!! He totally rocks this film from top to bottom, completely over the edge. What a pleasure it must have been to work with him. The blasts of colours are very pleasing, beautiful production and set design won me over for being more than a little lost at times. The ending? Hmmmm...Maybe you need to watch it two times - Ripple
There is a lot going on in this show. The characters are great and the story line moves along quickly. Perhaps a little too quickly. I get the feeling there is a great plot in there somewhere but I didn't get it. Neither did the other three people I watched it with. I don't have the energy to watch it another time. Sorry Guy. Maybe the editing needs some work.
