Field of Dreams (Special Edition)
"If you build it, he will come." With these words, Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) is inspired by a voice he can't ignore to pursue a dream he can hardly believe. Supported by his wife Annie (Amy Madigan), Ray begins the quest by turning his ordinary cornfield into a place where dreams can come true, a baseball diamond. Along the way he meets reclusive activist Terence Mann (James Earl Jones), the mysterious "Doc" Graham (Burt Lancaster) and even the legendary "Shoeless Joe" Jackson (Ray Liotta). A heartwarming experience that has moved critics and audiences like no other film of this generation, Field Of Dreams is a glowing tribute to all who dare to dream.

Even if you don't care for baseball, this is still a must-see. - estefan
I find baseball to be quite a boring sport, but the main theme of nostalgia running through Field of Dreams is universal enough that this becomes an entertaining, touching film. The performances are very good, with Kevin Costner being a likable lead as usual. Amy Madigan does over-act a tad, but Ray Liotta and James Earl Jones are both great here. The All-American look of the film gives it a nice, rich colour, too. But most of all, it's the script that succeeds with funny moments inter-connecting well with the more dramatic scenes and the fantasy aspects. Field of Dreams is definitely a terrific example of Hollywood feature film magic, done with a very fine touch.Surprisingly good! - JeremyK
I like this movie a lot though I don't consider myself a baseball fan or a Kevin Costner fan. The characters rather easily accept the strange things happening to them but at least it helps keep a good pace to the film. Since I am not close to either my dad or step-dad it did have a powerful effect on me. Great film.Glad I did - Cineman
Not being a fan of Kevin Costner I was very reluctant in watching this movie but I must admit it won me over. A great story with good acting. James Earl jones is the one that won me over. Even if you like I, are not a Baseball fan this movie will entertain you
