C.R.A.Z.Y. is a story of two love affairs. A father's love for his five sons. And one son's love for his father, a love so strong it compels him to live a lie. That son is Zac Beaulieu, born on the 25th of December 1960, different from all his brothers, but desperate to fit in. During the next 20 years, life takes Zac on a surprising and unexpected journey that ultimately leads him to accept his true nature and, even more importantly, leads his father to love him for who he really is. A mystical fable about a modern-day Christ-like figure, C.R.A.Z.Y exudes the beauty, the poetry and the madness of the human spirit in all its contradictions.

Very well done. Some very poignant moments and some good laughs also. My favourite kind of film -- relies on strength of cast, characters, writing, and execution to deliver a very solid film (vs. stupid special effects, violence, etc etc), and leaves us with a few things to think about in terms of family relationships, adolescence, sexuality, and double standards.C.R.A.Z.Y. - TwoBoggySwampers
What an excellent movie! One of the best we've seen by far. The thought that went into the characterization is nothing less than extraordinary. The clothing, hair, music, cars and homes (inside and out) were absolutely representative of the times and couldn't have been any more realistic. And the story. Amazing. Although it is mostly about the one boy, Zac, and his coming of age, the focus isn't lost to only him. The rest of his family is incorporated enough into the film to understand their personalities and placements in the dynamics of the household - thus making the story that much more fine-tuned and complete. It is a movie full of emotions from A to Z and is a definite must see for anyone and everyone. I don't recall ever seeing such a well-rounded Canadian film. For that alone, it should be zipped by all.Great Canadian Film - Big_J
Skip Brokeback Mountain and check out this Canadian gem. This is a great coming of age story and features a character far more interesting and brave than other "gay" films that have come out this year. This movie manages to tackle some very important issues while making you laugh, cry and think at the same time. Unlike alot of Canadian films this movie has a great story and look. If you are okay with subtitles this is one of the best movies that you will rent this year. Don't miss it.
