I have to agree with CathyOttawa, this is LAME. I zipped it to see molly Parker and Gordon Pinsent, but he hardly says ten words and she has a part that didn't require any real acting. In fact, nobody really had to work at this piece of fluff. It was like any tv cop show, really. It shouldn't exist and I wonder why it does? It could have been better, it really could have, but the directing was clumsy and the script was poor. I wonder why the actors agreed to this. do yourself a favour and skip this one...Terrible B movie. - cathyottawa
This doesn't get billed as a Canadian movie, but it was filmed in Hamilton, and is chock full of Canadian actors.
But don't let the presence of Molly Parker and Gorden Pinsent in the cast fool you - this is a terrible film. Parker is good, but has little to work with. Pinsent's role is small.
Stephen Rea is also here, and he's, well, let's just say this isn't the pinacle of his career. You get the feeling everyone here just needed a pay cheque.
This brings us to Christian Slater. It's no secret his career has been in the toilet for quite some time, and it's no wonder. He's a terrible actor. He's awful here. I didn't believe him as a Priest for one second. In all fairness, this had as much to do with the way the character was written, as with how he acted the part.
This is one dopey script. It's unintelligent - particularily where anything involving police work is involved. It's unconvincing. It's full of plot holes. And it all leads to an ending you'd expect from a soap opera, it's just so dumb.
If you're from Hamilton, you might have fun seeing your home town in the background and recognizing land marks. Otherwise? Steer clear of this one.
