Adam's having a mid-life crisis. At thirty?
Adam Lazarus is turning thirty, and life couldn’t be better. He has a good job, loving family, great friends, and a beautiful live-in girlfriend named Jane, But Adam wants more. He dreams of becoming the next Great American Author. But his dream is shattered when the sultry Cassandra - his boss and editor, reject his novel. Plunging into despair, Adam begins to write about the failures that have defined his life. Jane, best friend Lonnie, cross-dressing father Frank, and even whacked-out homeless activist named the Manatee Man try to convince Adam to put down the pen and pull out of his nose-dive. But Adam is determined to finish his magnum opus of self-loathing. When the resulting book becomes a hot ticket, Adam is forced with a choice: Take the fast track to stardom, or return to his "insubstantial" life.
