Body Bags was originally set to be a TV series on Showcase (similar to HBO's Tales From The Crypt). After the network felt it was in their best interest not to go ahead with the series, the three short stories that were created were placed together into a horror anthology.
This film is highly similar to the Tales From The Crypt series but has originality in its stories. You will see many cameo appearances and slight amounts of dry humour along with the gory storylines.
The movie, directed by John Carpenter and Tobe Hooper (both also have small roles in film), has the 80's and early 90's horror genre all tied into one.

I love the idea of mini movies rolled into one segment. Presented by John Carpenter, all 3 films are entertaining for the most part. Definitely not Oscar worthy, but still fun for any horror fan. Each installment is introduced by John Carpenter himself who plays the role of a morgue technician but wait for the ending, you'll get a surprise!great anthology - mritt
I love horror anthologies and this is a great one, with each segment introduced by a creepy looking John Carpenter. The first tale about the gas station attendant was predictable but tense none the less. In the second and best story about a vain bald guy, I was suprised by how funny tv tough-guy Stacy Keach was. In the final tale we get to see a darker side of Mark Hammill. Although predictable again, it is still very entertaining segment. Keep an eye open for all the cameos.
