Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi: The Next Generation
Director's Cut - Uncut and Uncensored
Warning: Contains coarse and explicit language. In other words, everything you'd expect from a Kevin Smith DVD.
One major perk to being a director is that you can live out your fantasies. Kevin Smith's fantasy? To be featured in a three episode arc of Degrassi: The Next Generation. Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes come to Canada to film a movie in which their alter egos are forced to go back to school, called Jay and Silent Bob Go Canadian, eh?' And what better high school to shoot at than Degrassi Community School. But drama ensues even before the cameras begin to roll.
This disc includes the following episodes: "West End Girls," "Goin' Down the Road (Part 1)" and "Goin' Down the Road (Part 2)."

I bought this because I thought "Now this would be funny" but no we have no laughs at all Jason Mewes only appears for 5 minutes of screen time and yes this is his total screen time.
I surprisingly watched this the whole way through pretty much for the same reason I sat through Hot Tub Time Machine thinking the jokes will get better but instead having a crap movie.Great addition to a classic series - dreag21
Degrassi has been a Canadian gem for decades now and is finally getting much-deserved mainstream attention in the US, thanks to the devotion of fans like Smith. In this 3-episode arc, the director/actor fulfills a long-time wish to appear on the show, and yet he has enough respect for the franchise to ensure his character actually blends into the Degrassi world. The Silent Bob and Jay characters are introduced in a way that is realistic and logical to Degrassi and yet we get glimpses (admittedly toned down) of the hilarity and naughtiness of the pair.
Well written and shot, these episodes are well worth it for fans of the series and would serve as a great introduction to newcomers.Meh... - Malakaiii
Unless you are a fan of the new Degrassi shows, I wouldn't recommend watching this DVD!
Really not much of Kevin Smith's characters in the show at all. The giant WARNING on the front is misleading... as it only warns you about a few curse words in the special features.
Should be called 'Degrassi does Jay and Silent Bob'
Skip it.
