Unfortunately, the best thing about this movie is the video box art...
...which is a shame, because killer dolls always will have a special place in my heart. This one had a few cool moments, and a couple of genuinely creepy ones, but overall it was just so bland and boring. Denise Crosby tries really hard to overcome the shoddy material but there's not much there for her to do. The story itself is also kinda lame - if the doll had been alive without explanation, it would have been scarier. As it is, wpossessed by an ancient demon, it's lame and feels like a cheat.
A much, much better killer-dolls movie is Stuart Gordon's "Dolls" from the mid-80s. THAT one is genuinely creepy throughout; this one is a "has-its-moments" bore.
