After watching a lot of great movies like Miyazaki's Spirited Away and come other Japanese animated classics i was scrounging around form some more interesting stuff in the genere. -- this aint it. these are visually interesting but not more engaging than typical saturday morning cartoons.A Great Series but a Weak Series of Episodes - Mookie
First off - I love this series but I have to admit - if this was the first disk I had seen I wouldn't have loved it as much. The first episode is the conclusion of a 2 parter started on disk 5. I think it was a very strong episode but I felt the assassin character needed to be explored/explained more.
There is a zombie episode that is a waste of space. It is obviously a "what if" episode and would be better suited for a different series. It isn't even that good from a story perspective.
The third episode is another episode that feels out of place. The trio play some baseball. And while there is some fun to be had in this episode, overall it was a little flat.
Other disks have four episodes so that is another strike against this disk - it only has three. If it wasn't for the fact that the first episode on it concludes a strong 2 parter I would say to give this disk a skip.Pretty Good. - Logos
I love this series. It is by some of the same guys who made cowboy bebop so what do you expect? Lots of action, style and a good story. The hip hop theme might turn some off but I think that it was fitting to the serious and comedic style to the series. I mean seriously aren't you getting a little sick with all the Jpod they put in series. At least some of them are trying techno or hard rock or Rap. I mean Naruto with some of it's guitar rifts can get a little annoying but it gets you into the action. Same thing here the music just fits. Anyway if you aren't in stiches after watching some of these episodes there is no hope for you.
