Rumor Has It...
Based on a true rumor.
Sarah Huttinger (Jennifer Aniston) is in a fog. She's finally agreed to marry her boyfriend Jeff (Mark Ruffalo), but isn't at all sure that marriage is what she really wants. Now she's on her way home to attend her sister's wedding, which means spending a lot of time with the tennis-obsessed Pasadena family that she's never felt quite a part of. It isn't until Sarah stumbles into a well-kept family secret that she starts to question her roots and sets off in search of the man who may have the answers she's looking for (Kevin Costner).

Shirley MacLaine was definitely the scene-stealer in this movie. Her blase attitude and complete hatred for Kevin Costner was hilarious.
This movie won't win any awards but it as cute and it just goes to show you that there are always skeletons in the closet!Dull plot... improper casting - Losse
I'll admit that the actors attracted me to this movie... I don't know if the producers had deep pockets or the actors were starving for work... The plot is extremely weak, the twists and turn are rather "straight" and forseeable well in advance and frankly, the storyline isn't all that interesting.
If I were to redo this movie I would replace the actors as follows:
1. Jennifer Aniston --> Paris Hilton
2. Kevin Costner --> David Hasselhof
3. Shirley MacLaine --> Doris Roverts
4. Mark Ruffalo --> Johnny KnoxvilleMediocre - b1--
I assumed that this movie would be fairly interesting, since I had heard that it was a spin-off from the graduate. There's a lot to work with there. They could have come up with a really great screenplay. This movie, however, just works off the plot from The Graduate. It really doesn't have much of a plot on its own. It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't recommend it.
