Before the Dinosaurs: Walking With Monsters
Before Humans... Before Dinosaurs... Our Planet was Ruled by Monsters...
From the makers of Walking with Dinosaurs and Walking with Prehistoric Beasts comes the prequel: the epic and entertaining story of life on Earth before the dinosaurs and beasts. It’s life, but not as we know it.
Before dinosaurs a succession of fantastic animals and plants ruled the planet. Many of us are completely unaware that these creatures ever existed, or believe our planet was home to just worms and bugs. Yet there was a time when two-tone predatory fish came on land to hunt, when 26-foot sea scorpions sliced sushi in the shallows, when just one species of lumbering reptile represented eighty percent of all life. State-of-the-art digital technology breathes life into these creatures that dominated both land and sea for 250 million years. This is the final program in the phenomenally successful, multi award-winning Walking with... series.

For a computer generated documentry, it was well done. Great graphics and good speed thru out so you didn't get bored. With the story you can see how some of these "monsters" still exist today in different forms. Young boys will love this movie so if you need a good sit down with the family everyone should enjoy this film. This is fascinating movie - JustAnotherView
Extraordinary educational journey into the past. This movie kept me involved as much as my 5 year old, all the way through. Amazing how all scenes are made so realistic. We can’t wait to see ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ which was the original project.
Watching how the movie/series was made was as interesting and entertaining as movie it self.
This movie/series is must see for all ages.wanting more BBC paleontology? - marisasano
You just can't go wrong with this series. Walking With Dinosaurs made Jurassic park look amateurish, and this "prequel", made several years after the original series, has pushed the technical side of animating extinct species to another level, not to mention offering some fascinating speculation about what life was like before the age of the dinosaurs.
Now, I'm a big fan of paleontology, so I was pleasantly surprised that there were facts and ideas that were new to me. The accompanying documentary on the making of the trilogy (Walking With Dinosaurs, Walking With Prehistoric Beasts, and Walking With Monsters) is also a great look behind the scenes, which is also full of interesting research.
