A Fine Mess
In the spirit of Laurel and Hardy.
Join the irresistible Ted Danson (two-time Emmy® winner, TV's Cheers) and the unpredictable Howie Mandel (TV's St. Elsewhere) as they find themselves in A Fine Mess. While making a movie at a racetrack, lady crazed actor, contartist, and all around bungler Spence Holden (Danson) stumbles on two goofball thugs, Turnip (Richard Mulligan) and Binky (Stuart Margolin), doping a race horse. Always ready to cash in on a golden opportunity, Spence phones his roller-skating carhop best buddy (Mandel) for some quick loot. When the two hoods discover Spence's plan, the chase is on, taking all four guys on a madcap comedy romp that includes hightailing it from the cops, the Mob, and the gangster husband of one hot-to-trot wife! Written and directed by Blake Edwards (The Pink Panther, Victor Victoria), A Fine Mess features a great soundtrack with music by The Temptations, Mr. Mister and Smokey Robinson.

Remarkably Unfunny - ShawnConnery
After having viewed the Pink Panther movies and The Party, I really thought anything by Blake Edward's could be funny. I was wrong. The acting wasn't the greatest, but that wasn't the worst part. While the idea was good, the script was so terribly boring that it might as well have been a drama. The slapstick didn't add much to the humour, in fact, it made itself look even more desperate.Pretty ordinary - MovieLover
This is pretty ordinary stuff considering the talent on display and the director!
Could be one of Edwards' worst movies.
The plot is not too bad but the direction seems poor and the good cast doesn't seem to help, turning in lacklustre performances.
Danson in particular is disappointing, showing almost no interest in his performance.
Richard Mulligan too, who is such a good comedian and actor, is just totally wasted here.
Bad work at the crossroads wasting such talent.
Sadly most of the blame muust rest with Edwards.
