Our Fathers
"A powerful movie that confronts the horrors of the past without abandoning hope for a better future." - USA Today
The foundation of the Roman Catholic Church is shaken as one Cardinal's dark secret is finally revealed. Based on the compelling book "Our Fathers", this true story focuses on the sexual abuse scandal and cover-up. The story unfolds in early 2002; when a group of Boston Globe reporters blew open the sexual abuse scandal surrounding Father John J. Geoghan and Boston's now-infamous Cardinal Bernard Law (Christopher Plummer), who failed to stop the sexual abuse by clergy in his diocese. The passion and courage of Mitchell Garabedian (Ted Danson), one of the first lawyers willing to take on the Church, enabled him to uncover scores of victims and their stories.

It's a Wonderful Life Part 2 - CaptainRhodes
Just kidding. Boy, did this feel like a tv movie. In fact, it felt like an 80's CBC movie to be exact. I guess I'm not complaining. It did entertain in the sense that it was informative and achieved what it set out to do which was to document the Catholic scandal. Perhaps I was just expecting something more which certainly wasn't finding some of the victims at an older age annoying. In a way I was rooting for no one and remained indifferent to the trials that they must overcome. Danson was fine. Plummer was good. Dennehey was good as usual. I say don't bother renting it and just wait till it airs on television again. I'm sure it will one rainy sunday night. No doubt fun times for you.
