Loggerheads
One son. Two mothers. Three endangered lives.
Mark Austin (played by Kip Pardue, Remember the Titans) is an HIV-positive man in his twenties who has been rejected by his fundamentalist adoptive father. He tries to find his birth mother and make sense of his life. The lives of the families - the son, the adoptive parents, and the birth mother - are explored in a non-chronological fashion that requires the viewer to pay attention to dialogue and background cues that reveal the sequence of the story. Nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2005, Loggerheads is an honest, moving exploration of the modern family that has wowed audiences whereever it has been shown.

NOTHING SPECIAL - Ricardo
Yes, it's a moving story, yes it shows how some families will turn away the ones they supposedly love the most because they turn out to be gay, yes, it's a difficult life for a young gay man. All of that is true, but unfortunately, not very well shown in this movie. Kip Pardue and Bonnie Hunt do a great job acting their parts, but everybody else is extremely stiff and not very good (with the exception of the motel owner, who plays the part well even if it's very one-dimensional).
Okay movie but nothing memorable.it's more then is seems - LeaMac
This movie is an absolute beauty. It's sweet and honest and believable. The acting is superb, but it's the cinematography I noticed first. Each scene is gorgeous, even if it's the simplest of scenes. This is definitely a movie you can invest your time and energy in and come away from it feeling like you've gained something. You'll fall in love with both male leads, no matter who you are - they're that sort of characters! And they'll leave you wishing you knew more about them, which I think it a good indication of what kind of movie this is.Dreamy - ransom
Wow. This is so subtle and slow-moving that at first I wasn't sure if I liked it. Then I began to notice that every scene is a small jewel of perfect cinematography and beautifully directed actors expressing powerful, restrained emotions. It's nice to see Tess Harper again - where has this lovely actress been? Kip Pardue as the sweet, lost and damaged Mark is a heartbreaker.
