Does not translate well as a film - InpraiseofFolly
I remember having had to read this as a book when I was in High school. Although it wasn't a masterpiece by any means, I was curious to rediscover something from my past and to see whether my tastes had changed. Unfortunately for me, they hadn't. The story is incredibly boring, the main character is unlikable and , whereas the book at least provided a semblance of mystery and confusion, the movie is devoid of any atmosphere and the "twist" is very easily deduced very early on. I don't recommend this at all.
