Ellie Parker
The talent is real. And so are the tears... sometimes.
Ellie Parker (Naomi Watts) races around town from one audition to another. She barely has the time to attend to her whirlwind life as she pursues her dream of being cast in a movie. When Ellie decides to give up after losing faith in the craft, her manager (Chevy Chase) doesn't exactly try to talk her out of it. With newfound drive she's determined to prove everyone wrong... or will she?

This was obviously a "project" movie. You know the kind, where actors, artists, etc, talk about making a movie about something and then get together over a couple of weekends and shoot it. But Naomi Watts was so amazing, it was totally captivating to watch her. There is a scene where she is auditioning for a part, that was so real, it made it extremely interesting and sort of difficult to watch. If you are in the movie industry, especially an actor, you must watch this movie.Skip It! (Unless you are a HUGE Naomi Watts fan!) - DoubleDownAgain
If you like home movies and poor student films than this is the film for you. The only reason I rented it was for Naomi Watts and while she was in almost every scene that wasn't enough to save this film. Too many Hollywood cliches and not enough story. The film was shot on Digital Video but it looks like a camcorder. Too many closeups, overhead shots, I felt really claustrophobic watching it. The only thing decent was Naomi's performance but she had little to work with. Unless you are a die hard fan of hers I wouldn't waste my time.A bit of a surprise - A.J.
I know I'm in the minority, but I loved this film. I found it genuinely interesting, with moments of humour and real heart. I love Naomi Watts and I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. But regardless, I don't think anyone can dispute the fact that she is a marvel in this film.
