Running Scared
Every bullet leaves a trail.
Joey Gazelle (Paul Walker) is a member of the mob whose job is getting rid of guns used for murders. He hides the guns in the drywall in his basement, but his 10-year-old son Nicky (Alex Neuberger) and Nicky's best friend, Oleg (Cameron Bright), find one and use it to shoot Oleg's abusive stepfather (Karel Roden).

The main character is more a snub-nosed pistol than is Paul Walker's character, Joey, but it makes the story different (in a good way) than all the others. The theme is multifaceted and the action is constant throughout - both keep your interest held high. I'd recommend this if you don't mind violence, foul language, and some uncomfortable scenes.good - basilbenz
I was a big fan of Tarantino after seeing "Resevoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction". "Running Scared" is certainly in that same vein, and it also reminds me of John Woo's "The Killer". But where this film lacks the dialog of a Tarantino film, it is a lot more visually stylish than anything QT has ever done. There are great transitions, effective dynamic time warping (speed up or slow down a shot, like a bullet flying through the air), and if you thought Maynard, Zed, and the Gimp were bizarre in "Pulp Fiction", wait until you meet the creepy married couple who through their sick hobby make every other evil character in this film look like Buddhist Monks. It's a fast, furiously-paced film, certainly aptly titled. A great cast, beginning with Paul Walker and Vera Farmiga. And certainly the main kids stand their ground, especially Cameron Bright. Also worth mentioning is the end title sequence animated by Gary Hebert. Bottom line, if you were disappointed by films like "Kill Bill" and "Sin City", films you really wanted to like but found them too cartoonishly clichéd, you'll be more than satisfied with "Running Scared". It's sharp and engagingAmazing! - Mykull
This movie I heard was great... but I didn't think I could believe anyone.. as I haven't seen a GREAT movie in a long time. Okay, movie is far fetched.. but the effects and slow mo is GREAT.. the acting and intense moments keep you on edge. There is one part of this flick that just doesn't fit... where his kid is taken by some child molesters.. I just didn't get that part of the film.. nor was it really needed.. maybe I'm wrong. I have watched this movie 3 times now... and every time I feel as if I'm on the edge of my seat. Paul is great in this.. totally believable acting and story line is GREAT
