The Hills Have Eyes
Unrated: The Version You Couldn't See in Theatres
A family road trip goes terrifyingly awry when the travelers become stranded in a government atomic zone. Miles from nowhere, the Carters soon realize the seemingly uninhabited wasteland is actually the breeding ground of a blood-thirsty mutant family... and they are the prey.

A lot better than I was expecting, it was actually kind of scary at times. I'm not sure way so many of the reviewer's didn't like this movie. They all said it was disturbing, gross, gory and violent. I don't no what you thought was going to happen. You should maybe watch the 14A horror movies. The Hills Have Eyes - TwoBoggySwampers
At first, I thought this movie was going to be dry and boring. Well, it proved me wrong. Once its momentum gets going, it keeps on rolling right through to the end. It's freaky, scary, disgusting, and shocking - just what a horror film should be. There's also plenty of guts and gore and blood to top it all off. It's a true horror film as it is labelled to be. Most others stake the claim, but aren't any more "horrific" than the Scary Movie series. This one is for all those who enjoy a glimpse on the darker side of things once in a while.
*****For extra added sickness, I highly recommend Rob Zombie's film, "The Devil's Rejects". It's one of the best horror movies I have ever seen.*****A better version? - T-Bar
On the case it says that this is the film you couldn't see in the theatre. You should see no version anywhere.
The usual gore-fest with cardboard characters getting mutilated in various ways. Lots of blood and no chance for ickiness is avoided. To label this as a horror film should bring up a discussion about what is horror. Many recent films are just exercises in excess with little plot or more importantly suspense. Once the killing starts you only get a few cheap startle effects and probably some idiotic "is it really over?" ending.
I saw the original a long time ago and it was not that good then though the idea of a family out in the desert doing these things could have some potential it is wasted again.
Avoid.
