Otis (Kevin James), a carefree party cow, enjoys singing, dancing and playing tricks on humans. Unlike his father Ben (Sam Elliott), the respected patriarch of the farm, and Miles, the wise old mule (Danny Glover), Otis is unconcerned about keeping the animals’ humanlike talents a secret. But when suddenly put in the position of responsibility, the "udderly" irresponsible cow finds the courage to be a leader.

This is a great animated film. Kevin James is a very funny actor. I also liked the pig friend and the rat friend. My mom made a good point about the film. ``They're male cows. How come they have utters?'' That's a good question. I don't know. Who cares, though? This is a cartoon film, we can do anything! Also, when something sad happens, it feels sad. So, this is a great animated film that I think people should definitely see.Utterly Terrible - moviedoug
This movie is aimed at children. Even so, I wouldn't show it to children. It is just a cliched movie about barnyard life. The one thing that I can't seem to let go is that the COWS in this movie are MALE. This is confusing and not even used to comedic effect. In reading the reviews here on zip it becomes evident that some reviewers of this movie; while being able to overlook the fact that cows don’t talk, have been unforgiving and relentless in their attacks against the choice of creating a male character as a cow.
So this movie won’t go down as the best animated kids flick by any stretch but it was remotely amusing. It ‘s obviously been successful enough with the kid audience to be pushed into a television series (Back at the Barnyard) which I’ve found to be sporadically scattered with humorous moments.
Despite some of the criticisms in reviews this movie is worth watching though won’t blow you away, but let’s be realistic do you really want to watch that episode of Dora AGAIN?
