Not exactly The Last Waltz, but Cooper makes it great - jeffoneonone
The concert films of the Seventies have a well-deserved reputation for bad photography, grainy film, annoying close-ups on the lead singer at the expense of everyone else in the band, and pointless side-stories that were usually poor stabs at comedy. In short, they generally did little to capture the true greatness of the performers in their prime (at least until Marty Scorcese's The Last Waltz, but that's another review).
Good to See You Again, Alice Cooper suffers from all of these issues, but even these cannot dampen the power of the original Alice Cooper Band in its prime. And the remastered sound alone is reason enough to Zip it if you're in any way a Cooper fan. Like another reviewer said, exercise the DVD's option to watch the film without the comic pratfalls (a feature which garnered the DVD a whole extra star from myself), crank it up and have fun.The Early Years - Exterminator
It was great seeing Alice Cooper in his early years with his original band mates when they were at top. Complaints about this film is this absurd sub-plot of this director trying to chase down the band for ruining his film. (this gets rather annoying after awhile) My advice is to choose the bonus feature that allows you to watch the concert only. About the concert: I wish they would have shown more of the stage show that Alice Cooper was known for. A lot of these scenes seem to be shortened or edited out altogher. If you are looking for some classic Cooper tracks from Billion Dollar Babies and before this DVD is worth renting.
