This pre-code film probably did not inspire the creation of Gilliangan's Island, but it is very funny and watching the mousy Claudette Colbert character transfer into sexy jungle woman is worth the price of admission on its own The plot involves four different type of character who abandon a bubonic plague stricken steamer and escape to a Malaysian Jungle Island . The four consist of an older, quirky but good natured women who carries her fashion dog in her arms. The other female is timid and much younger but she gets little positive attention from the two men until a monkey steals her clothes while she is bathing. Tropical leaves are the only thing she has to cover herself and as the men get excited by her new look she also gains confidence and learns how to be a skilled Jungle girl. There many more funny adventures with wild animals and native. When the Natives capture them they offer to free 3 of them to go for payment and they choose the older heavier women hold as hostage. In the many amusing scenes the older women proves to be more they a match for the natives who captured her.
