That’s what young Gabe discovers as he pursues the object of his affections, his classmate Rosemary, in Little Manhattan. The romantic comedy is about life, love and the Big Apple, as seen through the eyes of a fifth-grader.

This certainly qualifies as one of the more quirky and charming romances I've ever seen, perhaps because it shows the ups and downs of love from the simple perspective of a ten year old.
With NYC as the back drop, Gabe narrates the story of his first love, starting when he still thinks girls have cooties, and leading to stessing over the right time to share his first kiss with Rosemary. This movie will have you fondly remembering your first crush and the roller coaster of emotions that went along with it.
Great performances by the entire cast, but both Hutcherson and Ray steal the show.Absolutely delightful - CarlQ
Rated as a film for children, I think that adults will appreciate much more its insightful and amusing reading of a boy's consciousness-overturning experience of first love. I laughed out loud over and over again at the 10-year-old's efforts to understand what was going on and at his judgements on his behaviour. Little Manhattan tells the story of a 10 year old boy living in New York and his first crush on a girl from his neighborhood and school.
The film is billed as a "love story" and rest assured that it is the *innocent* love of youth - so get your minds out of the gutter!
Well acted, briskly paced, and full of interesting visual twists that aid the story telling. Adults will relate to the all-too-familiar mis-steps of first love, yet there is still a ton in this movie for kids to enjoy.
