Great movie! - Chuckles1
I totally disagree with the movie summary written above, and DO agree with the preceding 'review'. This is a great movie. Obviously, anyone who is a track fan (or a jogger!) will love it. However, the movie also DOES, in my opinion, present the sociological and psychological issues confronted by a minority (native American) athlete. Obviously, one cannot have a complete textbook of social factors in a movie, but the idea IS definitely there. And, the conclusion will bring tears to your eyes, especially if you are also someone who usually cheers for the underdog!!Definitely a Feel Good Movie -Especially If You like Sports Movies !!! - Flamin_Mo
4 1/2 STars... (actually 5 stars, but I'm biassed because I love sports movies). That's What I rate this movie. If you are a fan of sports movies, and a fan of the sport of RUNNING too, then this is definitely a feel good movie. I loved it. Whooopity dooo, about the non-perfect acting. The little guy gets the glory in the end. A tribute to the power of personal belief, in the face of adversity. Yes, of course that's an over-used cliche... But, it almost always makes the movie-goer feel good when the little guy triumphs in the end. That's exactly the feeling I walked away with at the end of the movie..FEELING GOOD. I felt empowered after watching this movie for the first time, and pretty sure I went for a 10-mile run afterwards. *chuckling to myself* ... So, If you like feel-good sports movies, You'll like this one TOO!
