Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic
The Unrated Movie
The film comprises Silverman's performance before a live audience interwoven with stylish musical numbers and backstage intrigue. Comedians Bob Odenkirk and Brian Posehn make appearances along with Silverman's band, The Silver Men.
Silverman, who has been compared to the legendary Lenny Bruce, is known as one of the funniest and most provocative people in comedy. Despite the current political climate, in Jesus is Magic, she takes on such pitch-black topics as September 11th, unwanted body hair, and the Holocaust, and spins them into decidedly un-PC comedic gold.

Sarah is brilliant but ...... - TorontoComposer
I really wanted to love this DVD. I have seen sound bites on youtube about Ms. Silverman and thought "great a Lenny Bruce who is also a sexy woman". I was right. I don't listen much to Lenny Bruce for the same reasons. She is brilliant. She points out a lot of clever things in our society but ..... no kindness. No hope for anything good. When listening to the Lenny Bruces of the world all we hear is the sky is falling. I want more. I want some hope. There is none in Sarah Silverman. I wish her well and recomend this DVD to those who like to just poop on stuff.Sarah Is Maliciously Delicious - CharleyJames
Offending everyone is as old as comedy; court jesters were hired to mock the king. In Jesus Is Magic, the maliciously delicious Sarah Silverman mocks everything from religion to the elderly to her relatives to parenthood and even the audience attending the taping of this concert.
I can understand why she may be an acquired taste, like ripe olives which not everyone enjoys. But once you grasp that Silverman's shtick is ripping apart society's conventions in an over-the-top style laced with zingers and double whammy's, everything falls into place and you can sit back and laugh hard, shamelessly and out loud.
Some critics blast her as a female Andrew Dice Clay. But Clay was rude and revolting for its own sake; Silverman always makes a point with her very non-PC monologues and songs.Very Funny, Very Fresh - Mookie
What I loved most about her humour was that it felt like only Sarah could have gotten away with it. Yes, there are a lot of uncomfortable un-PC jokes, but her innocent, charming delivery lets her get away with it.
This humour is NOT for everyone but I personally loved it and thought it was hilarious. A little too short, but hilarious.
