Joe Kid on a Sting-Ray: The History of BMX
Narrated by Former BMX Racer and Monster Garage Host Jesse James
BMX originally stood for Bicycle Motor Cross. It started when kids modified their Schwinn Sting-Rays to look like dirtbikes in the late 1960s and early 1970s. From there, a racing scene developed in Southern California. Soon, BMX freestyle took off, as kids in parking lots and skateparks around North America wheelied and endoed their way into the mainstream. Now, BMX is a big business that includes many disciplines, from street style, to racing, to halfpipe and big air tricks, but the spirit of individualism that motivated the first kid to pull a wheelie on his Sting-Ray lives on.

BMX riders look out! This is a must see- I learned a lot about where and how BMX started. Even if you don't have a BMX bike but have some interest in it, I think you will enjoy this film. It has interesting interviews and great biking footage from the early days of BMX to the X-Games.Joe Kid on a Stingray - Vintage_BMX
