Stick It
Rebellious 17-year old Haley Graham (Missy Peregrym) is a natural athlete who seems to be more interested in hanging with her skater punk friends, listening to thrasher music and causing trouble than competing in gymnastics. But after her latest run-in with the law, a judge sentences Haley to her ultimate nightmare—attending an elite gymnastics academy run by legendary hardnosed coach Burt Vickerman (Jeff Bridges). However, when her own competitive aspirations and rivalries begin to surface, Haley must choose between personal glory and the loyalty and friendship of her new teammates.

Amazing Gymnastics!! - aaawww
I'm really in to gymnastics and this movie amazed me with the talent that the actors actually possessed!!! I love this movie because it's not the normal stereotypical type of gymnastics or cheer leading movies that end up making athletes sound like over competitive or air headed idiots. It's the kind of movie that makes you genuinly amazed at their talent!Like a gymnastic version of Bring It On - hilkayaker
I fell in love with Bring it On and having been in gymnastics as a kid I fell in love with this movie even more. As soon as I saw it in theaters I knew I would love it. Not to much of a fairytale story, but just enough to enjoy it. Love the rebelious ending, it was great how everyone jumped on board to support their fellow gymnast!! If you like gymnastics and liked Bring it On watch this and you won't be disapointed!!Surprisingly original - Ashley1
I rented this because I am a sucker for your traditional dance/gymnastics/cheerleading movie. However, Stick It was surprisingly original for this genre, which is usually quite formulaic.
Of course, there are the standard plot devices of the genre: misunderstood female protagonist, jealous sabotaging antagonist, an obstacle standing between the protagonist and the win at the end. But in Stick It, this "win" is quite unlike any I have seen before, completely upsetting the viewer's expectations.
In addition, the cinematography is quite unique. The elite gymnastics school where Haley is sent is entirely white and red. Several of the requisite performance sequences were done with a wide angle lens and overlapping gymnasts, creating an almost surreal effect.
The acting and writing weren't anything extraordinary, but all in all, this movie meets the needs of the genre and provides some extra punches here and there, too.
