I don't care what others say about this movie apart from the performance of Robin Williams and it is a hilarious movie to watch and enjoy with family and friends for it is funny and I would recommend it to others to rent it if you like comedy , yes it may lack a bit of different elements in it but if you look at the great whole picture it is funny and I enjoyed it thet's all.Robin Williams ROCKS.. - sassysnow
As usual Robin Williams puts out another good movie. I enjoyed this immensley and laughed all the way through. It may not keep you on the edge of your seat with unexpected moments but it's a good clean movie that the whole family can watch together again and again. Makes you rethink going on a family trip in an rented RV.. LOLGood Fun With Good Actors - revsdd
There's nothing particularly original or outrageous about "RV," but then again - considering what the purpose of the movie seemed to be - there doesn't have to be. This movie seems to have been made with no particular purpose or goal than to give the audience a fun time and a few laughs, and on those counts it succeeds admirably. Robin Williams did a great job as Bob Munro, an ad executive whose family vacation to Hawaii has to be cancelled because he has to attend a business meeting in Colorado. Not wanting his family to think that he ditched their vacation for work, he rents an RV and tells them that they'd have more family time together on a camping trip to Colorado. His plan succeeds - the originally dysfunctional family does grow closer after a rocky start - until they discover the real purpose of the trip.
Williams' performance was the highlight of the movie. I think that he's been doing too much drama recently, and it was nice to see him return to comedy. His portrayal of Bob was low-key but very funny at times - I think here of the encounter with the raccoons, or the drive up (and down!) Diablo Pass. His work was nicely supplemented by Jeff Daniels' solid as usual turn as Travis Gornicke, the patriarch of an annoying, country hick-ish family the Munros encounter in their travels and then can't shake. As their respective wives Cheryl Hines and Kristin Chenoweth added to the fun. In fact, there's a sort of "National Lampoon-ish" quality, with Williams and Daniels reminding me a bit of Clark Griswold and Cousin Eddy.
I could have done without the rather silly portrayals of Bob's boss and his colleague, but aside from that this movie was fun to watch - not a comedy masterpiece perhaps, but funny nevertheless.
