Exit in Red
A story of secrets, seduction... and murder.
Ed Altman is a down-on-his-luck psychiatrist who escapes Los Angeles with his lawyer Kate for a respite in Palm Springs. Ed finds anything but relaxation when he meets Ally mercier, a femme-fatale who dreams up a scheme to rid herself of her husband Nick Phillips and pin the murder on Ed. Fortunately for Ed, love is not completely blind and he soon sees the true Ally. With time and circumstantial evidence against him, Ed must prove his innocence. Set in the dusty Palm Springs desert, Exit in Red twists and turns until you're not quite sure who's framing who!

Despite Liking Mickey Rourke in a movie... - james59
his presence in this one wasn't enough to pull it out of being a poorly scripted, poorly directed, and generally poorly acted movie. Sometimes you watch a movie and can't wait to see it again, sometimes you watch one and think that it was worth seeing once, but then there are those that you think "There's a chunk of my life I'll never get back!" Exit In Red sadly falls into this last category - this was simply a poor movie all the way around the block. I could go on in detail about the holes in the plot, the paper-thin/generic characters, and so on, but this would be giving up more of my time that I won't get back. If you enjoy a decent Mickey Rourke movie, stick to Spun, Angel Heart, Sin City, The Wrestler. Don't bother with this entry (or Barfly for that matter). Can't Find a Compliment - c4th
Not much to compliment on this one. The casting is incongruous and the acting is horrible. The characters are so absurd and one-dimensional I'm not sure any level of acting could save this movie. The film editor should have been fired. One scene looked like it was shot twice and then edited to include both takes. I used the skip-back three times trying to figure it out.
Most of the story is revealed through flashbacks in a film noir style. What we see is an unimaginative plot with very predictable outcome. The murder mystery unravels like a cheap sock.
Don't be fooled by the zip rating. There were probably lots of viewers too embarrassed to give it a rating. It's a stinker.Exit in Red - Alex7
A psychiatrist from L.A. who lands in hot water winds up taking a job in Palm Springs and leaves his female lawyer/lover behind to clean up the mess. Gets in hot water again as the hubby of his new-found squeeze winds up dead. The plot is not bad, though some parts are blatently "Hollywood made up". The psych doc dresses a la Miami Vice without the color. All said, too much Hollywood, not enough believability.
