Pity! - jack1
I would have liked to rate this fim 4 stars. John Hurt's acting is tops, I've always had a soft spot for Hayley Mills, and the filming of Antarctica, with the Adelie penguins at its heart, may have been first rate. Unfortunately, we don't get to see it properly. Whatever the reason, perhaps a proper restoration would have rendered the DVD irresistible.Cry of the Penguins - Lindapatan
We had never heard of this movie, and rented it, thinking it was a 2005 release. What a surprise to see a very youthful John Hurt. This movie was actually filmed in Antarctica, and it is a wonderful movie for its time (1971). It was also a delight to see Hayley Mills in this film.
