Off Kilter - gags
A disturbing Edward Norton, a very pathetic Lonnie, who I wanted to wrap in my arms and take home; October, a feisty teenager who loves her brother. For me this movie just didn't work. It had a potentially good plot and great acting, especially Edward Norton. But the movie was too draggy. It could have been tighter. And there were parts that were not believable. Maybe it was the cowboy persona.Watch it for Ed Norton - rrafay
The movie is odd. I disagree with the prior reviewer, I think it is actually a rather unique film.
The movie goes in a direction that many would not see (towards the end).
It is well acted (I love Rory Culkin and Ed Norton). It isn't the best film, but it is a decent film.Nothing new - Gunk
While well-acted and endearing, Down in the Valley really doesn't offer anything new in the "coming of age" genre. The affection between the two main characters starts innocently enough but slowly unravels, as Edward Norton's character starts to show cracks in his good guy persona. This is by no means a bad movie, but don't set your hopes too high if you're expecting a different take on a somewhat tired story.
