Good action movie for fan of Van Damme, fast pace and lots of action. On the other hand the special effects are typical of a straight to DVD movie. One scene reused the same effect twice. I laught when I saw the appache over the dessert even thought the movie take place in Eastern Europe !
If you like Van Damme and action, you 'll enjoyed it.Looking For A Good Action Flick? - bwod
Jean Claude Van Damme obviously works hard to keep in shape. Despite his age (47), he still looks good and can kick butt. But what's the story with that big knot on his forehead?
I wasn't expecting much from "Second In Command", so I was quite pleasantly surprised by it. If you want to kill an hour and a half watching a lot of fire-power and bodies fall, you could do a lot worse than this movie. Don't expect to see much in the way of martial arts, though. But the action is first-rate. One firm thumb up.NOT A VERY GOOD MOVIE - Ricardo
Okay, it has action, explosions, US propaganda, and the works. Unfortunately, everything is overshadowed by Van Damme's terrible acting, the cardboard performance of his love interest, the so-called duty of a marine who risks the lives of those in his charge to rescue the woman he loves, the "I told you so" moments, etc.
This is a bad movie and maybe it could have been saved with a bigger budget (the army that we wait for throughout the movie is basically 4 tanks and a few trucks with troops) and better actors, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
I definitely do not recommend this movie
